Dashboard Tour

This guide introduces the key sections of the PatchCTL dashboard and how to navigate them effectively.

Overview Page

The Overview page is your command center, providing at-a-glance status of your entire fleet.

Key Metrics

At the top of the dashboard, you'll see four key metrics:

ServersTotal managed servers (online/total)
CompliancePercentage of servers fully patched
Pending PatchesTotal updates waiting to be installed
Critical CVEsHigh-severity vulnerabilities affecting your fleet

Compliance Chart

The donut chart shows your fleet's patch status:

  • Compliant (green) - Fully patched, no updates available
  • Updates Available (yellow) - Non-critical updates pending
  • Critical (red) - Security updates or critical CVEs pending

Server Status Grid

Quick visual representation of all servers:

  • 🟢 Online - Agent reporting normally
  • 🟡 Needs Attention - Updates available
  • 🔴 Offline - No heartbeat in 15+ minutes

Recent Activity

Timeline of recent events:

  • Patch operations (started, completed, failed)
  • Server status changes
  • Schedule executions
  • CVE discoveries

The sidebar provides access to all dashboard sections:

Servers

View and manage individual servers. Features:

  • List/grid view toggle
  • Filter by status, OS, environment, tags
  • Search by hostname
  • Bulk selection for batch operations

Patches

Manage pending updates across your fleet:

  • View all available updates
  • Filter by severity (critical, security, normal)
  • See affected server counts
  • Initiate batch patching

Schedules

Configure automated patching:

  • Create maintenance windows
  • Target by environment, tags, or OS
  • Set recurrence patterns
  • View execution history

CVE Tracking

Monitor vulnerabilities:

  • Fleet-wide CVE summary
  • Severity breakdown (Critical, High, Medium, Low)
  • Affected packages and servers
  • Remediation status

Reports

Generate compliance documentation:

  • Compliance summary reports
  • Patch history reports
  • CVE exposure reports
  • Export as PDF

Settings

Configure your account:

  • Organization settings
  • Team member management
  • Billing and subscription
  • License key access

Quick Actions

Press Cmd/Ctrl + K to open global search:

  • Find servers by hostname
  • Search packages
  • Jump to documentation

Notifications

The bell icon shows recent alerts:

  • Failed patch operations
  • Offline server warnings
  • New critical CVEs
